I am the Senior Lettings Manager here at LCP/PrivateOffice, a buying agent established in 1990.
My role involves assisting investors and landlords in letting and overseeing their buy to let property while ensuring compliance with current legislation in the London rental market. We source secure, dependable tenants at optimal rental rates and ensure the seamless operation of tenancies, allowing our landlords to experience a truly hassle-free investment.
What does a typical day look like for you?
Much of my day revolves travelling around Central London, whether its conducting tours of our prime rental properties or meeting with a landlord to provide updates on their rental portfolios. I regularly collaborate with relocation agents, identifying properties that align precisely with their clients’ discerning lifestyle preferences.
Tell us about interesting client instructions.
As our property portfolio spans across Prime Central London, a lot of our tenants are high net worth and some are very well-known including footballers, actors and film producers. Although they can afford to buy a property many of these clients might be on short term contracts or are perhaps growing a business and jumping between multiple countries and are still trying to decide where they want to live.
Which location in Prime Central London would you recommend for a buy-to-let investor?
For investors looking to take advantage of the current market, flats in Pimlico are looking very appealing with average prices standing at around £691,195 a 14% discount from the 2015 peak. Pimlico’s prime location, architecture and transport links have made it a popular destination for high net worth tenants.
What challenges do your clients face and how are you helping your clients to overcome them?
Many of our clients are based abroad and encounter challenges in remotely letting and managing their properties. Having a dedicated property advisor to oversee the letting and management of your rental investment presents a myriad of advantages, streamlining and enhancing the overall management of your investment. A key benefit lies in our local expertise and comprehensive understanding of the London real estate market, rental regulations, and neighbourhood dynamics. This knowledge enables us to effectively market your buy to let property, establish competitive rental rates, and attract reliable, high-net-worth tenants.
We take on the day-to-day operational responsibilities, handling tasks such as property maintenance, rent collection, and emergency response. For overseas landlords, this alleviates the challenges of managing a property remotely, ensuring that issues are promptly addressed without requiring their direct involvement. With over 30 years of experience, we have a network of trusted contractors and professionals, guaranteeing cost-effective and efficient solutions.
Where was the last place you travelled to for work or pleasure?
I recently visited Morocco for the first time visiting the souks and atlas mountains. It was such an incredible holiday and would recommend it as the perfect holiday for a combination of sun, culture and adventure!
If you weren’t in this industry, what else might you be doing?
I graduated university with a degree in Politics and International Relations so I might have been doing something along the lines of this.
How do you relax after a long day?
Our office is located in the bustling neighbourhood of Fitzrovia so a short walk from Oxford Circus, Marylebone and Soho. You might find me either in one of the local old pubs or trying out a new roof top bar, weather dependent of course!
